Jesse McCartney
Staring out at the rain with a heavy heart
It's the end of the world in my mind
Then your voice pulls me back like a wake up call
I've been looking for the answer
Somewhere
I couldn't see that it was right there
But now I know what I didn't know
Because you live and breathe
Because you make me believe in myself when nobody else can help
Because you live, God
My world has twice as many stars in the sky
It's alright, I survived, I'm alive again
Cuz of you, made it through every storm
What is life, what's the use if you're killing time
I'm so glad I found an Answer.
Someone
Who was there when all my hopes fell
I wanna fly, looking in your eyes
Because you live and breathe
Because you make me believe in myself when nobody else can help
Because you live, God
My world has twice as many stars in the sky
Because you live, I live
Because you live there's a reason why
I carry on when I lose the fight
I want to give what you've given me always
Because you live and breathe
Because you make me believe in myself when nobody else can help
Because you live, God
My world has twice as many stars in the sky
Because you live and breathe
Because you make me believe in myself when nobody else can help
Because you live, God
My world has everything I need to survive
Because you live, I live, I live
So. I really like this song. I've come to a point where God makes it really easy to see His glory in the little things. Even in a secular song like this one, it's easy to think of it, meditate on it, and give it to Christ. Even though I changed a few words, can you see how God can be glorified through it? Praised through it? Through a Jesse McCartney song? haha.
That's like life I think.
For some of us, who have grown up in a Christian home, it's hard to discern whether or not we are truly saved because most of our practices are out of habit, not desire to be in Christ. So you start to think, "How do I change? How can I change something that I already am doing?" Well, it's kind of like how I changed a few words of this song, you change little things that make a difference. You change things like how you pray, how you view God, you change your Bible routine, change anything so that it affects your spiritual walk to the point where you can truly feel God's presence. Do something! Because even the little things can make a huge difference.
After OP practice last night, I fell asleep really fast, but when I woke up, I laid there in bed for a long while just to re-evaluate things. Our sound had changed so much for the better when we felt the words. We didn't change the motions, we didn't change the notes, we didn't change anything except for the fact that we were singing to an audience spreading God's glory. It's humbling to think, that even to a room of empty pews, God can instill that kind of presence. He was there. And despite our goofing off, our weary minds and bodies. Despite the difficulty to just be committed during a dress rehearsal, God made sure His presence was known.
It's so important to remember God in everything we do. And though it's really hard to do, it's essential to your walk. You know, I heard one of my friends saying, "Don't bite the hand that feeds." Which basically is, don't forget where it is you come from, and as Christians we come from God.
Because He lives. We Live.
Such simple words but with a heavy challenge.
Baby steps people. Baby steps.
