Bottom of the ninth. A runner on second and third with two outs on the board and the Dodgers are down by one.
Andre Ether steps up to the plate and gets struck out twice.
The Dodger fans around me are all shaking their heads because the chance of winning now is nothing short of a miracle. We were on the brink of losing to the Philadelphia Phillies, last year's world series champs and this game was going to end on a bad note. That was the general consensus at least.
Then the wind up.
pitch is thrown.
Ether hits it and it looks like it's going to be caught but....THEY DROP IT! THEY DROP IT AND ETHER HITS A DOUBLE!!
That means it's the end of the game and the Dodgers win 4-3 against Philadelphia.
It was a good night. A good game. And it reminded me that no matter how ridiculous the odds might be. Despite the fact that it might seem like all is lost, anything can happen and God is working around the clock. Humanity gives us doubt, but...miracles happen everyday and when you're there to witness it, it's truly truly God-inspired experience.
WOO! Go Dodgers!!
