LOVE?

you know...with all this wedding stuff for Jan and Lynette I've been thinking a lot about what it means to be in love. How love can come into our lives unexpectedly and shape our existence forever. How it can shape our lives and all the decisions we make in this life toward paths that we never really thought would come as quick as they did.

I mean...look what love did for Jan and Lynette. Love made a man...who was always kind of a kid at heart...choose to dedicate his life to a woman who was kinda forced to grow up at an early age.
Love brought them together right? Love intertwined their lives so that one is not without the other and the reality of this whole thing that makes me realize just how special and sacred it is to be in love...can be found in 1st John 4:8:

"Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love."

God is love. Wow. what a powerful and beautiful concept. God shapes our lives and our decisions. God brings us to paths we never thought possible. God took a boy and a girl and is fusing them together today forever and it's not because we loved him first, but because He loves US first. God is the epitome of love and I'm not going to lie and say it doesn't excite me. I've fallen in love with God and because He loves me right back, he's always providing. That's what you do when you're in love. When you're in God. You seek to provide and to give yourself wholly to all those that you love through God.

"O God, You are my God; early will I seek You;
My soul thirsts for You; my flesh longs for You
In a dry and thirsty land where there is no water.
So I have looked for You in the sanctuary,
To see Your power and Your glory.
Because Your loving kindness is better than life,
My lips shall praise You....

Because You have been my help,
Therefore in the shadow of Your wings I will rejoice.
My soul follows close behind You;
Your right hand upholds me."
Psalm 63:1-3, 7-8
